The Legend of Hydra Distribution
Once upon a time (well, more like 2009, but “once upon a time” sounds cooler), a group of film professionals got fed up with two things:
Losing small but crucial bits of gear on set.
Waiting three weeks for replacements to arrive from mysterious warehouses halfway across the planet.
And thus, Hydra Distribution was born — not from ancient Greek mythology, but from the chaos of a messy gear room.
Why “Hydra”? Because like the mythical beast, every time one problem was solved, two new ones popped up… usually involving tangled cables. We decided to embrace the name, and now we specialise in film accessories — from the clamps that hold your lights in place, to the little gadgets you didn’t know you needed until your 3rd coffee at 4:00 AM on a shoot day.
Our mission? To arm filmmakers with the tools that make the magic happen (and to ensure that nobody ever has to gaffer-tape something “just for now” again).
We work with brands that are obsessed with quality, because we know your gear gets tossed into trucks, carried up mountains, and occasionally used as makeshift coffee cup holders. If it’s not tough enough for a film set, it doesn’t make it into our catalogue.
In short: We supply the unsung heroes of filmmaking.
Without us, your dolly track would be crooked, your boom mic would sag, and your lens caps… well, you’d have no idea where they went.
